Shikabane Hime.
Name: Shikabane Hime. (Corpse Princess)
Author: Yoshiichi Akahito.
Artist: Yoshiichi Akahito
Genre: Action, anime, horror, shounen, supernatural.
Summary:
The story starts off with a bunch of high school students, taking the dare to go up to this abandoned building that has been half destroyed by a fire. It was rumored to be haunted. Just a rumor, right? Not when real corpses start showing up, and they start feeling things grabbing them, and finally zombies going after them!
Shikabane Hime is there to save the day. The immortal girl, “Shikabane Hime,” has the mission to “kill” 108 corpses. It’s a contract she has between herself and the Buddhist monk, Keisei. After 108 corpses, she will finally get her happiness and go to heaven.
Synopsis:
Ouri is an orphan who was raised by Keisei, a man he considers to be his older brother. One night, Ouri finds a strange wounded girl in the temple of the orphanage. Cold and covered in scars, Ouri initially thinks that she is dead – that is, until a mysterious talking cat tells him that she is a Shikabane – a corpse. After secretly watching Keisei heal the girl without explanation, Ouri decides it's time to leave the nest. However, he has picked a poor time, and he soon realizes that he's tangled in a strange, supernatural web. Why does Ouri continually meet this girl as she hunts monsters? What does Keisei have to do with it all and what exactly is her mission?
Plot:
After being murdered, Makina Hoshimura turns into a "living corpse". Armed with dual MAC-10 submachine guns, she must kill 108 other corpses in order to gain entry into heaven. She is assisted in this task by Keisei Tagami, a Buddhist priest with links to an anti-corpse group known as the Kougun Sect.
Main character:
Hoshimura Makina
Makina is the main character and a contracted "living corpse". She is tasked with killing 108 corpses to gain entrance to heaven. She has formidable physical skills and her weapon of choice are two Ingram MAC-11 machine guns. Her contractor priest is Keisei Tagami. After Keisei's death, her contractor priest became Ōri, though she does not appear to accept this at first. Later, it is revealed that her family discovered the process of making corpse princesses.
Opinion on the manga:
"It's a pretty fast pace manga with something always keeping the reader interested and wanting more. A highly violent manga but, more suspenseful then most. A must read for any die hard Otakus." -Ian
Will add more opinions when some are given.
